Family Sponsored Migration

Parent Visa (subclass 103): This visa allows parents of Australian citizen, Permanent resident to come and live in Australia however balance of family test is required which states that atleast half of the children must live in Australia. Waiting time is up to 30 years for this visa. Parent can be in or outside Australia when application is made however must be outside Australia when a decision is granted. Applicant can include their partner or dependent children in their application.

Aged Parent Visa (subclass 804): Parent who at the age where they are eligible for an Age pension in Australia are eligible to apply under this category. However they must meet the balance of family test and must be sponsored. Parent must be in Australia to apply for this visa and when a decision is made.

Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 173) and Contributory Parent Visa (subclass 143): This is a two stage process however parents can apply for both stages at once or separately where cost will spread. Parents must pass balance of family test and must be sponsored by an eligible sponsor committed to provide you with Assurance of Support. You can be in or outside Australia during the time of application however must be outside Australia when visa is granted.

Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (subclass 884) and Contributory Aged Parent (Permanent) Visa (subclass 864): Parent must be Aged and sponsored by children who are Australian citizen or Permanent resident. Sponsor must be committed to provide Assurance of Support and must pass balance of family test. Parent must be in Australia at the time of application and when a decision is made.
